為提高孩子們英語水平，檢驗近期英語學習情況，進一步培養學生的英語綜合運用能力，營造英語文化氛圍，7月28日，山東理工大學“紅色之旅”實踐團于菏澤市牡丹區趙樓社區支教基地舉行英語作文比賽。
此次比賽本著“人人參與”的原則，在初中三個年級中進行。以《My holidy》（我的假期）為題，學生們現場發揮，在30分鐘的時間內寫出一篇100詞作文。比賽過程中，參賽選手胸有成竹，屏氣凝神，嚴格遵守比賽規則，表現出優秀的參賽風格。全部同學在規定時間內完成，甚至有幾位同學提前做完，顯示出同學們對英語的有效掌握。學生作文水平雖顯稚嫩，但從單詞、句子的運用，到語法篇章的安排，都顯示出了英語教學有了明顯的進步，這是同學們勤學英語的結果，也是每位實踐隊員辛勤教學的'結果。最終，趙芳同學脫穎而出榮獲一等獎，劉涵、趙紫、趙偉等分獲二、三等獎，隊員們為其頒發獎狀、獎品，以資鼓勵。賽后，實踐團將同學們的作品在櫥窗中展示，以供大家交流學習。同學們表示今后一定再接再厲，學好英語。隊員們鼓勵大家在日常生活中也要勤學勤用，在實踐中探索英語的奧秘。
此次比賽有力調動起同學們學習英語的積極性，提高了對英語的實用能力，提高了學生英語讀寫能力。據悉，此類活動還將繼續開展，為學生創設運用英語寫作展示的平臺。
