            小學英語作文:Sidney Opera House

Today, Mom took me to the famous Sydney Opera House. The opera house was huge. It was like a blooming flower in the night sky. We were going to see a show tonight. I did not know about the opera house, but by my mom’s expression, I knew that it was an honor to go there and perform.

We stepped into the huge playhouse, stared at it and said “wow”. This place had more than ten entrances, each leading to a dark theatre. The windows were class and the floor was marble, kept in place by iron nails. There were people filing in and out of theatres, drinking, eating and talking. We quickened our pace and walked into the theatre.

Somehow, this theatre was small with only ten rows. Bigger theatres can lead up to thirty rows and a stage bigger than a classroom. We took seats as the show started. The show was a children’s talent competition. The host and hostess were Chinese. There were children from Sidney Cambridge School of Arts, as well as children from mainland China. Older kids wore dresses and held umbrellas while dancing gracefully. Younger kids sang and participated in model shows and chorus. Chinese kids wore costumes of Qing Chao while acting. Three-year-olds danced on their tiptoes and raised their arms up like a swan ready to fly. The audience whispered to each other about how adorable they were. Beautiful voices filled the theatre while the chorus sang with open mouths, letting their voices travel further and further.

What I liked the best was the performance of a group of students from Sydney. They were good dancers, of course. What motivated me the most was their enthusiasm and their determination to give the audience a good show, to make them smile and be happy. While they jumped up and down, I saw that they were grinning like angels. Dancing made them happy.

At the end of the show, the younger kids smiled sweetly while being hugged by their parents. Maybe it was dream to perform here and have fun while dancing. I signed when the show was over: oh, Sidney Opera House, a place full of dreams and hope. I may come here and perform someday.
