　　第一天到公司上班，you must be nervous.你的心情一定挺緊張。怎么才能給上級和同事留下a favorable impression（良好印象）呢？西裝革履的你看起來很cool，但你還是沒有十分的把握。我們先來聽聽某家外企公司的新成員peter king如何得體地處理他工作中的第一天。
　　peter: good morning. may i introduce myself?my name's peter king and i'm new here.
　　anna: pleased to meet you. i'm anna white, the assistant to the personnel manager.welcome to our company.
　　你看，初次見面好比跳華爾茲，非常簡單，就是三步曲：問候——介紹——對方回答。不過這首華爾茲在不同的場合，步伐也不相同。
　　在formal正式場合中，要用：good morning/afternoon或how do you do，同時要shaking hands“握握手”來顯示你的sincerity誠意。當然不要忘了smile一下，因為微笑是消除隔閡、溝通心靈的最好方法。
　　而在informal非正式場合中，比如年輕人之間或平時的聚會中，我們就可以relax，放松一下，不單穿著隨便，而且只需招手致意，問候語用簡單的hi, or hello！就可以了。
　　另外，作為新人，應該主動與同事交往，所以要先作self introduction，除了may i introduce myself? my name's peter king，你還可以說：let me introduce myself. my name's peter. 或者i'm peter.
　　作完了自我介紹，peter希望susan能把他介紹給經理或其他人，聽聽他是怎么說的：
　　peter: could you introduce me to the manager?
　　susan: of course. mr. king… mr. white, let me introduce you to mr. peter king,the new clerk in your department.
　　white: how do you do. i'm alex white. we're going to be working together.
　　peter: how do you do. i've been looking forward to meeting you, mr. white.
　　原來他用了句型 could you introduce me to sb.? 這顯得很有禮貌。另外你還可以這樣說：
　　1、i haven't met your managing director yet. （我還沒有見到你們的總裁。）
　　2、i don't know anyone here. you'll have to introduce me.
　　（這里的人我都不認識。您得給我作介紹。）
　　如果情況相反，需要你把某人介紹給其他人，下面的句子可以幫你這個忙：
　　1、let me introduce you to our managing director.（請讓我把您介紹給我們的總裁。）；
　　2、i'll introduce you to our managing director , this is mr. johnson, our md.
　　（我會把你介紹給我們的總裁。這是約翰生先生，我們的總裁。）
　　最后，請問你知道在初次見面時哪句話是必不可少的嗎？對了，是：
　　nice to meet you.（見到您很高興。）每當對方報上姓名時，你要記得說這句話。
　　為了加深對方的印象，你可以加上你對對方的贊揚：
　　i've heard a lot about you. （久聞大名）。當然用
　　glad to meet you. 或pleased to meet you. 來替代nice to meet you.也可以。
　　得體的介紹和問候會給對方留下美好印象，但是你不能虎頭蛇尾呀，告別也要無可挑剔。
　　常用的告別語有：
　　1、it was very nice to have met you.
　　2、it was nice meeting you.
　　3、hope to see you again.
