　　環境污染（environment pollution）是指人類直接或間接地向環境排放超過其自凈能力的物質或能量，從而使環境的質量降低，對人類的生存與發展、生態系統和財產造成不利影響的現象。具體包括：水污染、大氣污染、噪聲污染、放射性污染等。

　　人類生產活動對自然環境的污染主要包括兩個方面：一是工業生產過程中產生的廢水廢氣廢渣和農業上使用的農藥、化肥等對水、大氣、土壤、食品的污染；二是在自然資源開發和利用中，產生的對環境的污染。
