英語CET-4作文：末日論引發的環境危機
Because of the fiction movie 2012 which describes a horrible scene that the whole world was destroyed by earthquake, volcano and tsunami, the view of doomsday is making a great clamor. Mayans predicted December 21, 2012 is the end of the world and the sun of 22th will never rise again.
Though it is now seems that this prediction is just a nonsense without any scientific support, it did provoke peoples thinking about environment. In awake of the prediction, we cant help asking why this horrible prediction happen? I think one answer may be related to the environmental degradation. As we all can see and feel, the worlds environment is going downhill with severely polluted rivers and airs. More often we cant see clearly the sun because of heavy air suspended matter caused by pollution. If continues going this way, I think the doomed day will come true if not now, then one day.
In consequences, for the sake of our own life, we should take efforts to protect the environment and save this planet. is the alarm bell to human beings that we should protect our planet, culture and civilization. Otherwise, the doomsday will come soon.
